THARUL EGODAGE
Freelance Photographer & Visual Storyteller
Who Am I?
I'm a freelance photographer and visual storyteller based in Galle Fort, with 5 years of experience in the industry. I specialize in portrait and creative photography, capturing emotion, character and meaningful moments through every frame.
For me, photography is more than just art, it's a way of preserving stories that deserve to be seen and remembered.
My Background
Creativity has always been part of my life. Born into a family proud of its artistic spirit my father, an artist and curator, and my mother, a hotelier I developed an eye for detail, culture and storytelling early on.
Growing up in Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, surrounded by its rich history, vibrant architecture and colorful streets, inspired me to see the world from unique perspectives and express it through photography.

Education & Mentorship
My interest in photography was first kindled at the Dharmasoka College Photographic Society, which gave me a purpose to capture moments, to preserve time and to tell stories.
I continued my formal training under Boopathy Nalin Wickramage and later refined my craft under Sajith Abeygunawardhana.
Currently, I am further advancing my skills at Lal Hegoda's Hegoda School of Photography, gaining new insights each day and continuously shaping the way I observe the world.
Each mentor and experience has contributed to my development as a photographer both technically and artistically.
